We chose this subject purely as a random subject as neither of us could mutually decide on a subject to present to the class. We google searched and then came across this website.The site was informative, reliable and resourceful therefore it appeared to be the most useful, relevant and appropriate site to use for our chosen topic. It provided links to well known and reliable sources such as the BBC and provided a search bar that was in direct link to Google. We also used easywhois.com to ensure that the website is reliable and efficient. It provides us with contact details and within the url there is “ac” which proves it is an academic website.
There were many positive aspects of the site which included:-
-The website was last updated in 2011 so its relevant and recent.
-It gives direct links to all the information you need.
-It provides you with a google search bar that allows you to gain more information and develop a better understanding.
-You are able to share with friends on social networking sites such as facebook
-It isn’t just information they provide pictures, videos, timelines etc which makes the website much more interesting and enjoyable to learn.
However there were some negative aspects that included:-
-It doesn’t provide you with sufficient and in depth information about dinosaurs.
-It provides you with a general overview of them which isnt useful if you need detailed information.
We gave the website a 7/10 as it was reliable and efficient when it came to our purpose and research, it provided engaging videos, graphs and other resources that we an alternative to just reading the information given!!!
