Finished Statement

So I have finally finished my statement and evaluation today. I found it rather easy to write as it was a very informal piece in comparison to other essays we write. After much reflection, I have realised that this journey was very much a learning process as my initial ideas were gradually being developed and put onto paper. It is extremely evident that throughout this process, my work has been strongly inspired by the works of Anish Kapoor. His use of reflection is extremely apparent in my final piece as I use mirrors. What I particularly enjoy about his work is that he invites individuals to learn and reflect upon their own personal sense of place, he allows people's personal thoughts and feelings be part of his work. I have aimed to do this with my piece by incorporating the mirrors, I want people to look at my final piece and reflect on their good and bad memories and inevitably realise their sense of place.
